AN EYEWITNESS VIEW FROM SECTION 302...
Cat Man
Memo to Lebron James:
They're gonna love you here in Denver and
might even come to the games.
Nuggets
are unquestionably the worst team in the
NBA, although I really like their young
players Nene Hilario, Nikoloz Tskitishvili
and Vincent Yarbrough. Give them a couple
of years to learn to play, add in James
with the first draft pick, and they could
have something.
As
for now, the Kings can palm (Mike Bibby),
dribble off their feet (Doug Christie),
throw up nonsensical shots (Vlade Divac)
and showboat with a slim lead (Keon Clark)
and still win. Y'all are saying Rick Adelman
wasn't pleased? Don't blame him. Guess if
it's Denver, you can afford to play half-speed.
You
knew the Kings had it in the bag when, in
the first half, Clark takes the ally-oop
pass and tries to tap it to a teammate.
Of course, the play didn't work but Denver
couldn't do anything going the other way.
I think someone came back and made a 3-pointer.
Even when the lead was just four or five,
the Kings were never in trouble. Holding
the Nuggies to eight points in the third
quarter certainly helped.
Tonight's
highlight: When the announcer bellowed,
"And now, the Nuggets Dancers,"
Mrs. Cat yelled, "And their underwear!"
JB
Tskitishvilli? I've
only seen him play in 4 games, but I must
say I am not seeing an upside with this
guy. His game seems too perimter oriented
and one dimensional and definitely too slow
for playing the SF postion. The problem
is that his shots are so far off the mark,
he doesn't look like he should be taking
them anyway. He reminds me a lot of Brad
Lohaus and Travis Knight. Which isn't bad
for a second round selection, but the dude
was a first round #5. I wonder what Kiki
saw in this guy? He passed on Stoudemire,
Caron Butler and Dajuan Wagner. I assume
he passed on Stoudemire because he had Nene
coming in a trade, but he essentially drafted
another PF in 'skits. With Butler, the Nugz
would have had their starting forward spots
covered for years.
