HEDO

I am disappointed that Hedo and Gerald get so few minutes, but I think that Adelman is keeping Jim Jackson in there because he makes so few mistakes. Hedo and Gerald show serious sparks, and Hedo has a great all round game, but both make too many mistakes. Adelman is watching them in practice against the best tema in the world (the King's starters), and he probably has a pretty clear idea what is going on with them. I'll trust Adelman for a while on this.

Cruising a bit is not such a bad plan, but developing bad defensive and turnover habits is very bad indeed when it comes to the playoffs. Adelman is more concerned

with that than with shooting percentages.

Given the certainty of injuries and blowouts, Hedo and Gerald will get some time this year. If Peja goes down, JJ is too small to simply replace him, so that Hedo is a better choice against many to most teams. And if Hedo and Gerald keep working, they can count on Doug and Jim Jackson getting a year older each year. And the two young turks (literally and figuratively) might even get paid for their patience with a ring or two.

Man this feels good. When the boys are playing a good team it brings out the best in them. This bodes well for the playoffs. If everyone gets and stays healthy it will be a short summer. I can only imagine what the laker team must be thinking having Peja healthy and present for the entire playoffs. Good night Phil. Can anyone say SWEEP!!! Too bad, during the entire post-laker playoff spout-off, the laker fans have perpetuated the "poisoned cheeseburger" story while neglecting to ever mention that the Kings played without Peja for all but a few moments at the end of the series. This is going to be fun. Peace.

While the Nets certainly played more like the Nets last night, I never once thought they were going to win the game, or even get in a position to win the game; the Kings just weren't going to allow that to happen. Props to the Nets for a great effort however, especially Kidd, Martin, and Jefferson. Their biggest shortcoming is they have no in-the-paint presence who can defend Vlade and Webber well enough to take them out of the game - and when either are forced out of the paint they just go outside and hit shots from there.

Back to yesterday for a minute: I was listening to Bob Ryan on espn radio this morning. His take on Shaq's foul against Francis is that was the turning point of the game. I don't see it. It wasn't a flagrant, but it was still a foul and didn't come at an especially crucial time in the game at all. Francis was going to go the line for FTs anyway. Ryan's rant was toward the officiating and rightly so, but I can't agree with his viewpoint on that foul.
