Well, if I'm the Kings
I'd start looking hard at starting Hido
and Peja at the forwards while we wait for
Lawrence to come off IL and Chris and Scot
to heal. Reason being is that if Clark starts,
then there is NOBODY who can sub in for
Vlade at the five.
Neither
Peja or Hido are good post defenders and
when they are uninterested in defense whoever
is the low help defender is a big liability,
but letting Keon continue to be the backup
at both big spots is IMHO, the best course
of action.
Plus
Hido and Peja will almost guarantee at least
one offensive mismatch when they are on
the floor together.
To
think that of the Kings eight man rotation
from the playoffs last year FIVE of them
have missed significant time this season
(Webb, Peja, Mike, Bobby and Scot) and Hido
has had his minutes cut. Not one of those
eight guys has appeared in every game this
season although I think Vlade comes closest
having missed only 2 or 3.
The
team's play right now sucks and from what
I saw it sucked before Webber went down.
JB, I feel for you and everyone else with
league pass. I'm glad this game was NOT
on TV, I wouldn't have wanted to see it.
Lastly,
as big a pessimist as I am, I'm not going
to waste any of my time worrying about the
Kings until one of two things happens: (1)
They slip to the point that they could miss
the playoffs (not likely) or (2) they are
in the postseason playing in an elimination
game.
Winning
the West may not be a realistic goal if
things don't change quickly, but I still
think Bobby's return will mean great things
for this team. Especially if Hido and Peja
start asserting themselves in the meantime.
And of course, if Mike continues to find
his groove once again.
Of
course I'm guessing at this point that finishing
one or two in the west will garner you the
prize of playing the Lakers in a short series.
