KINGS ZARDS
Reno Lady
The 'Zards looked
like the same team who played the Hornets
right before the All-Star break, just in
different uniforms. They couldn't seem to
do anything right, just like the Kings in
New Orleans. I've seen enough Wizards' games
this year to know they're a better team
than what they showed last night.
That
said, I give major props to Peja. I don't
think I've ever seen him play better than
he has the last couple of weeks. He has
more aspects to his game than perimeter
shooting, causing his opponent major headaches
because they just don't know what he's going
to do, and he seems to be coming up with
the ball a lot more than he's ever done.
He's making great decisions when the ball
is in his hands, and I don't think anyone
can complain about his defensive effort
at all. Had he been playing like this all
season I think a pretty good argument could
be made for Peja as an MVP candidate.
Which
brings me to Kobe. He had a terrific game
last night, scoring about 1/3 of the Lakers
points. He too made great decisions with
the ball in his hands and his defense was
great. One of the best games I've seen him
play this season & a very strong case
can be made for Kobe for MVP. The Lakers
would not have had that blowout last night
without him.
The
tape they showed last night of Bobby working
out, running the floor and handling the
ball looked great. No apparent aftereffects
from the broken hand. He'll be available
for sure by Sunday, hopefully by Friday
for the Sonics.
Thanks
to the Spurs for taking a game against Portland.
That was a very good game BTW between 2
teams very evenly matched. Neither wanted
to concede and that made it fun to watch.
The comment about Rasheed making a bad decision
at the end isn't valid IMO. He was in the
paint for the first shot he took but missed.
By that time, the Spurs were swarming all
over the paint and there was no way he'd
have had a chance to make a shot there,
so he headed for the perimeter to try once
again. He missed.......but I watched about
3 replays of those final seconds and I think
he made the best decision he could based
on what the defense was doing.
