MORE THOUGHTS ON KINGS-SPURS

Feistyfan

Well, I had to do other things for awhile before I could even approach an objective view of this game.

If this game was a river, then the the Refs were beavers. It started out with a free flowing style, then in the 2nd & 3rd quarters, the whistles were ridiculous. Each whistle was like another log in the dam. Regardless of whether you believe the officiating was skewed toward the Spurs (which I do) or whether it wasn't - you have to acknowledge that it definitely affected both the flow and the outcome of this game.

When so many questionable calls are whistled, even the legitimate calls get booed because our sense of fair play is abused. Of course, replays on the big screen that prove us right are even more disturbing.

Despite Bibby's poor shooting and being the inappropriate person to shoot that last 3 pointer (at least for today he was) I think the Kings could have won this game.

A different officiating crew (even Bavetta) would have called a more evenly officiated game.

Chris Webber would certainly have been enough of a difference in this

one to tilt it to a win as well.

Come to think of it, I don't feel that bad about this loss because I still know we're the better team AND when we're all here and healthy, this game probably isn't even that close at ARCO.

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST

How the heck do you call a T on Rick Adelman?

The guy is a grandfather, for cryin' out loud.

He doesn't swear, intimidate, nor scream at the officials.

Compared to Riley and Isiah, the guy is a pussycat.

Because the Kings are a bunch of nice guys, the refs put us on short leash.

We are like their favorite whippin’ boys.

Maybe its about time we start acting like Portland and start shoving people around.

I add my voice to the dismay. The Kings outshot the Spurs, defended well, rebounded only one less.

But the zebras took it away. Was the Adelman ejection payback for an earlier Popovich ejection?
How could anyone watching Doug slash so beautifully to the basket call those offensive fouls? He earned those baskets with the most beautiful play of anyone on either team today.

So the Kings have to beat the Spurs by twenty in order to win. Luckily they can and will!
