TURNING POINT
TheBigO
In my mind, the flagrant
and T on Walker was the series that the
game turned on. The Kings were clearly outplaying
them up to that point, but that five point
swing was what really pushed them ahead
to stay. I
didn't like the flagrant call on Walker,
but the league has really been calling the
flagrants close this season. It's almost
as if they are trying to eliminate the hard
foul. I don't like that at all.
Some
great games by individual guys tonight and
a phenomenal team effort, the best example
of true Kings basketball I've seen in a
couple weeks. Doug
was phenomenal. I believe he had 11 or 13
points in the third because last time I
saw in the first half he only had 5 and
yet finished with 18 without playing the
fourth. He has really been knocking down
his open looks lately. His passing and rebounding
were also good, a notch above what has already
been a good job lately.
Speaking
of rebounding, the coaching staff must have
been really getting on the guys about defensive
boards. They showed a lot of effort at times
ni sending guys to the glass, especially
early on. There were a few lapses, but it
was a very noticable improvement over the
last two games.
Keon
looked good and his bread and butter side
pop was really working for him tonight.
Bobby's
shot is still eluding him, as was Peja's
early on. Stojakovic started hitting in
the second half a bit and Bobby will come
around. His hustle was obvious though. I
loved the steal he had after the Boston
rebound, even though Jackson missed the
shot. Another
solid game from Vlade. He's starting to
play really well, and that's a good sign
down the stretch.
Hido
looked better this game than last, but he
looked pretty good in that one as well.
His favorite shot (that straight on 3) was
falling for him tonight. I thought Rick
should have started him against the Celtics
and I guess I was wrong there (Clark looked
good and hassled Toine) but I still think
Hido needs to get more minutes.
Jim
Jackson is usually pretty solid, but I don't
see anything he's doing now that should
be enough to keep him on the floor instead
of Turkoglu.
Nice
win tonight. I really hope to see them pick
up the next two as well to make it a 6-1
homestand.
