DEFENDING THE FANS
Fireplug
As
the Webmaster here I read everything all
you fans post every day. Because of that,
I would like to think that I know a little
bit about how real Kings fans really feel.
And I feel it needs to be said that the
players are dead wrong in their feelings
about what they think happened last night
when Jon Barry was booed by the fans as
a joke.
I wish we fans could have spoken to Scot
and Jon when they went on the radio to relate
their feelings, because we could have put
their minds at ease about our true feeling
for Jon. Nobody needs to feel bad. The players
don't need to. The fans don't need to. Why?
Because they WEREN'T REAL BOOS! Scot THINKS
they were but he is dead wrong and selling
the fans short.
Scot said he thought that the fans were
more knowledgeable about the league. Well,
the reason so many fans booed, and kept
it up is because we ARE knowledgeable, and
know who is a good guy and who isn't and
we fans KNEW it was a ridiculous idea that
anyone would really boo Barry, and we all
figured Jon would know it too.
Heck, when it happened, Vlade and the guys
were laughing on the bench, I was looking
at him through my binoculars, and Jon was
making funny faces back at Vlade and the
Kings players. And the fans saw their joking
interaction and played it up even more.
Nobody bought into any media junk that Jon
was talking smak or that Vlade would really
pay us $5. IT WAS A JOKE, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
We all knew it, players broadcasters and
fans alike. If anyone would have thought
for a second that Jon or any of the players
would have believed that the boos were real
then they NEVER would have booed, and they
all would have instead given him the standing
ovation that he usually gets.
So if anyone knows a player or two personally,
please point them to the forums here so
that they can see how real fans really feel,
and stop selling us short.
