did have a horrible game last night. Poor shot
selection and didn't defend. I think he has a
bad habit of thinking he can shoot his way back
to the game after missing a couple of mid-range
J's. But fact is, he is not a shooter like Peja,
Bibby, and Bobby are and once his first few J's
aren't falling he always keep missing all similar
shots the rest of the game no matter how hard
he tries. He gotta drive in, try to power in,
or hook it in, and find other ways to score. Every
single time, when he take that 17-footer, he misses,
and the other team get the RB. And he always takes
it with NO teammates underneath for the RB, aka
poor shot slection. He has to get rid of this
"keep taking even missing long J's until
I shoot my way back" mentality. By the time
he finally makes one, the Kigns are already in
a deep hole. He needs to face it, his jumpshots
are no where close to how sharp they were before
his injury and therefore he has to attack in other
ways.
And
yes, this team overall has not played as well
as they did like last year. Even in the W's, several
times they barely beat the other team on the points
scored but lost the Rb, TO and FT battles, and
that's not the way a dominant team plays. Blame
it on injuries all you want, the Kings are still
underachieveing in my opinion, not just record-wise,
but also play-wise.
They definitely can play much better than they
have been all season long and blowing out every
team in the league, at home or on the road.
Grant
Napear is right, it is a mental thing, it is the
lack of sense of urgency. Playoffs is right around
the corner and homecourt advantage is still very
important to the Kings in the 2nd and 3rd round.
They have to pick it up now or never. There is
no excuse now. If they keep on playing at the
level they have been playing, which is not their
top level, they are not gonna win the championship.
