time.
Last 2 times I wore the "close"
shirt was last Friday(Hornets) and Sunday(Hawks).
The blowout shirt is very good and has seen
three stright games this week. Although there
is a potency factor in that the shirt must
be washed after 2 games or this whole thing
backfires. Sadly, I got greedy and went with
it for the last Laker game and the 1 out of
4 bit me. Should have went with the "close"
shirt. Then there is a new one this season,
the 98 percent empty Diet Coke can next to
my chair. Those Sunday day games throw me
off because I can't keep the can in the right
spot due to working around the house so much.
Sadly, I also noticed that I can't drink a
beer until I see Gerald Wallace come in for
a blowout game. Funny, I haven't noticed any
sort of pattern on watching the game vs. not
watching. Also, the thing about the not posting
about the game before it starts was only for
the 6 game road trip. So I'm off the hook.

Ok,
time for me to confess. Took a nap at half
time and it just went on and on. Woke up with
2:30 left in the 4th quarter! Kings were ahead
by 8 or so. Came out into family and The Better
Half broke the news, "game tied at 96
so did not wake you up, wanted to save you
and your stomach."
Can
you hear the Jazz fans, "if Karl had
been able to play we would have won?"
"Just wait until the playoffs and we
will beat you then, the regular season does
not mean any thing!"
With
a change of a few names you could hear the
Laker fans using those words?

Actually
the game turned out to be way too much exciting
than I would ever have imagined. Credit goes
to Jazz for busting their rearsides off. Donyell
Marshall is probably one of the most interesting
players in the league. He plays like an all
star when he sets his mind to it (only of
course when the matchups are favorable). Still
the Jazz lacked the maturity to finish off
the game.
It
is really amazing how the tables have turned
since Kings played and lost that game 5 against
the Jazz in the 1999 playoffs. That date seems
like a distant history. It is obvious for
all to see the brilliance of this Kings team
with all that crisp passing and intelligent
players. There were probably at least 10 sequences
where everybody touched the ball before finally
an open man shot the ball.
Coasting
for 2 quarters is understandable for a team
returning from a successful 5 game road trip.

Oh,
I'll await the day
When good fortune comes our way
And we'll ride down the
Kings Highway
Looks
like somebody just beat me to it, but the
Kings who "can't win on the road",
now has a 23-15 record on the road. Lakers
are now 23-16.
Tonight's
game never WOULD have been close had the Kings
displayed the same type of defensive intensity
they did in the first. I thought they started
the game playing phenomenal team D.
It
was like a Kings game from Bizarro world,
since normally they coast and then turn the
defensive screws late in games. Personally
I think the guys just got a bit tired, but
that's still no excuse.
The
one thing that puzzled me a bit in this game
was the number of minutes that Adelman played
Peja. He was obviously sucking wind after
about 4 or 5 minutes of floor time. So much
for easing the guy back into the lineup. He
did look good though, and its nice to see
that there was no rust on his J.
Oh
well. Now for the Knicks. One of my buddies
said that the game is now radio only since
NBC dumped it. I guess the schedule I printed
out at the beginning of the season is out
of date.
The
faster that magic number gets to zero the
happier I'll be.
