Crunch
Time
HoopsFromWV
During
the most crucial part of close games down the stretch
they have to quit letting Webber control the ball.
It seems that they just keep putting him in a position
to fail. All the pressure in that situation is on
his shoulders to do it all. Maybe we should leave
it in Peja or Doug's hands and let Webber be free
to crash the boards or make himself more available
for a pass instead of walking the ball down and throwing
it straight into the post with the shot clock winding
down and all of a sudden something is going to magically
happen. All I can say is I hope his jump hook goes
down cause if it don't then they won't score.

Sean
Rooks helped
to lose the game for the Clippers, yesterday, with
his "going bonkers" act, an x-ray pinpointed
the source of his problem.

Someone
please tell Jason that there is nothing wrong with
him picking up full-court and applying some pressure
on the ball like Bobby does it may keep the opposition
from getting into their offensive set so easily and
create more fast-break opportunities for him. I loved
seeing that mid-range jumper last night. We need much
more of that and he will have the defenders at his
mercy.
Who
else thinks Doug re-signing is almost as important
as CWebb re-signing after the season?
Also,
as much as the Kings have done for CWebb if he does
decide to leave he shold at least provide them with
a sign adn trade?

Musings
OhSC
It's
not so much that Shaq==bowling ball, but
how
much he's allowed to roll. Nyuck.
I
kinda like the Clippers, from what little I've seen.
I'd
like the Kings to be in the same half as Dallas,
heh,
because you know...
but
who *other* teams face in the playoffs is probably
as important to the Kings as who they face.
Did
Chris Webber look like he felt better?
Now
everybody give good advice during this
stretch;
this being the most active and erudite
Kings
forum around, AdelMAN's reading here and
trying
stuff... hmm, maybe I shouldn't go to an
eight
man yet... post Webber up, ok, uhm, ...run
some
more sets through Vlade, does that still
work?...
get Jason the midrange jumper...
Seriously
though:
Gotta
hand it to Adelman, the ship's looking good.
Ahem,
Jason has had some long stretches of sound
minutes.
Sincerely racous applause of respect.
If
anybody has to keep their wheels on, it's that
guy.

Spurs
and Road Trip
celter07
The
way for the Kings to beat the Spurs is small and fast,
JDub up the middle creating and dishing! Every time
He gets it going like that RA takes him out and kills
the momentum. Don't always understand that. Good perimeter
shooting is a must from Christie, Brother Hedo and
Barry as well.
The
Mavs are a tough matchup for the Kings, I hope they
find it within themselves to stepup energetically
to overcome. It is tough to sweep a team in a season
and that's what the Kings will have to do to beat
Phoenix. To stop them they will need to stop, as Kobe
proved, JKidd, Bojax could be critical here. Then
to come home to play the Griz will be tough as the
team will be worn out, unless the games are easier
than we are anticipating.
All
this is being done in typical Kings fashion, down
to the wire! That's what being a Kings fan is all
about. There is always some do or die situation facing
them. The odds are against them to pull it out, yet
we are on the edge of are seats figuring every possible
way for them to win. Wondering, will they do it? They
have proven themselves many times this year which
makes us hope, can they do it again? This season will
probably be determined in the last shot of the last
game, that would be against Denver!
Anyway,
the Kings are in the playoffs. Yeaaa!!! Go Kings!!
Homecourt would be nice. Even so, they at some time
will probably meet the Lakers. As much as I hate to
say it I don't see them beating a healthy Kobe and
Shaq. Which is what makes being a Kings fan so fun.
Hoping and wondering, will they do it!! Go Kings?!!

Saddle
the Spurs
halo
Tomorrows
game against the spurs is going to be a big one for
2 reasons: If we do not win tomorrow against the spurs
theres a very good chance we wont take the Pacific.
It will also be a big game in the respect that we
will undoubtedly be putting in our big line-up for
the game. We should see Pollard playing some big minutes
if he can keep those sloppy hands to himself.
The
rest of the lineup I do not believe needs to change
much. I would usually say put bojax in for some big
minutes in a game of this magnitude but the spurs
guards really havent posed a problem with us in our
last 3 games. Just keep the offensive 1st and 3rds
and defensive 2nds and 4ths.
Every
game with the spurs this year has been a close one.
As long as we can keep our turnovers low and our rebounds
decent we should be able to pull this game out.
GO
KINGS!!!

Webber's
Outside Shots
ken
Robinson
and Duncan and Walker are gonna jam up the paint and
I am very afraid Webber (and even Divac sometimes)
will once again fall in love with those long jumpers
and miss them.
This
season's trend is, if Webber first attacks inside
and gets whistled an offensive foul, he will start
to settle with his long shots. If he misses 4 in a
row and then make 1, it's highly likely that he will
keep shooting from outside until he misses 3 more.
And that's 1/8 FG right there, and giving away 7 def.
rebs. to the opponent. That's exactly what all Kings'
opponents want all year long game in and game out.
He
is not a pure shooter like Peja is and if his outside
shots are not falling, PLEASE! stop shooting from
17 foot, especially at clutch time when the game is
on the line!!!!
Webber's
long shots fall only when the Kings are playing in
momentum. Regardless of how his teammates are playing,
if the Kings are behind by 5+ pts, Webber's outside
jumpers never fall. It is only when Kings are leading
or breaking the game open would Webber's jumpers fall.
All
in all, after 77 games, I'd say that when Webber shoots
well from outside, Kings win (even if Peja is off).
When
Webber shoots poorly from outside, Kings win or lose
(by a small margin) depending on the rest of the team's
performance.
When
Webber shoots it poorly and frequently from outside,
Kings pretty much always lose.
Fact
is, the other team WANTS Webber to take that outside
shot.

I
have been reflecting on all the banter on this board
swirling around C-Webb and his on and off playing.
It's allergies. It's his ankle. He is played to long--doesn't
get enough rest, ect., ect. The concensus seems to
be that he hasn't been feeling as well as he did earlier
in the season; that he favors his bad ankle and therefore
can't be as agressive as he should be, and on and
on. Now I have another perspective on this. Even though
Chris' disparaging remarks about my hometown Sacramento
rubbed me the wrong way--being a native--I suggest
we cut him some slack. Look at it this way: He has
played through his allergy problem; he has played
in spite of his sore ankle; he nearly always manages
to score high. We have seen the puffy face, the no
smile face, the grimacies on his face when he moves
to hard against his ankle and yet he still shows up
(most of the time) and plays with grit and determination.
For all of this I say Chris, thank you for your effort
and thank you for bringing your all-star presence
to Sacramento. You have helped put us on the map.
Whether you stay or go--Sacramento is better for having
had your talents displayed here. I for one know what
it is like playing on a bum ankle as I get out and
play a little pick-up ball myself now and then. I
merely turned my ankle on a cut (not a sprain, just
a turn) and it was tender for a full three months.
I wondered when I would ever get over it. Being arm
chair critics, cold brew in hands, is easy. Playing
through sickness and injury is hell. So, I say, hears
to you C-Webb, for all the excitement and success
you have visited upon us most fortunate rabid, die
hard Kings-obsessed fan. Thank you, thank you, thank
you.
