when
they walk onto the court at ARCO - and they
deserve every handclap, every shout, every
hooray. This group of Kings has done themselves,
their coaches, their families, and their fans
very proud this season.
Hard
to believe that the regular season is almost
over and there are only 3 games left to play.
At the beginning of the season was there anyone
who thought winning or losing those last 3
games wouldn't mean anything to the Sacramento
Kings? That they just wouldn't matter as far
as the standings go?
I
didn't.
Yet
here the Kings are, the team with the best
record in the division, the conference, and
the league - and it all happened on the road,
in the Staples Center in Los Angeles of all
places!
Poetic justice? Kharma? A portent of things
to come?
A
couple of weeks ago we talked about the last
few games and their importance. Some posters
said the Kings would need at least a 2 game
lead over the Lakers going into the last game
of the season to hang onto first place. Tonight,
the Kings have a 4 game lead over the Lakers
(yes, we know that can change) and will go
into the final THREE games of the season with
the knowledge that the outcome won't mean
a thing. I think the Kings will play to win
those games but won't take any chances - and
luckily for themselves and their fans, they
dont have to.

From
CWebb, Vlade and RA: we will be happy and
celebrate tonight but back to work on Saturday!!
Those are good words, their eyes are on the
next game. After that will come the next game,
next game & next game!
kingme
Whew!!!
It has been a LONG time in coming hasn't it,
Kings fans?! I loved watching the game and
post-game and listening on the radio which
I did simultaneously. And I loved that KHTK
opened with Queen's "We are the Champions".
It would be great crowd-pleaser at ARCO, but
I'm afraid it would be misinterpreted by those
people who like to scrutinize behavior, and
make judgements about who's celebrating too
much, or not enough, and how they handle success
and adversity. And yes, on of those people
is that freaking jerk-off idiot, Ric Puker.
Thank GOD I didn't hear him on KHTK today,
or else it wuld have spoiled my celebratory
mood. I want Napear just once to turn to him
and say, "You really don't even know
what the hell your talking about, do you?"
I'm going to try and get a ticket for Sunday's
game, but if I cannot go, I want to plead
with the fans who are going to be super loud
and stand up and applaud for a long time when
the Kings come out for pre-game warm-ups.
Give them a sight they'll never forget. Everyone
in the Kings organization, including Garry
St. Jean, Richmond, etc from the old days,
always say they have never, ever seen or heard
anything like the time when the Kings came
out for warm-ups after they had split the
two road games with the Sonics in the 96 playoffs.
The fans were on their feet clapping and cheering
for what seemed like 20 minutes at least.
I've often wondered, as the Kings have reached
even greater heights, where those fans have
gone? It's never even come close since. But
Sunday has got to be special, so we can all
mark it as a milestone in Sacramento Kings
history. We need to be our "old selves"
again for the playoffs. This is why the team
tried so very hard to get HCA, so we could
make a difference for them. But I can feel
the momentum building already, and Kings fever
is starting to spread...can you all feel it
too??!!!! Go Kings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OhSC
Great
game, well done!
Congrats
to Kings and all the Kings fans!
Good
adjustment to Kandi, if a lil' slow.
Heh,
maybe it don' sound so bad when yo' th' one
doin' the clinchin'! Try saying it with some
attitude!
They
did a good job of keeping it cool on tv; no
broadcast of *whooohooo*, so we went out in
the street!
