Suns Game
OhSC

Can't help but see the Suns as a legitimate threat; would
like to see the Kings just *crush* them. Allow no
quarter, don't smile, no high fives, no back slapping, just business baby. Drain the vitality right out of them. Vlade
as Bela Lugosi's Dracula: "Good eeevening, this is the
low block where I will punish you over and over." His vamp buddies, Dr. FrankenAdelman, the FrankenPollard
monster, Jason Igor ("Heh, I got the brain master"), hyperzombie
Doug, Chris Webber the token human and the rest of the
thralls can do it.

I'm still looking for Cliff Robinson to come unglued, that
is, pull a Wallace. I agree with Ken and Bawsor, those big slick shooting pf's could bring the sun and drive stakes if
the Kings let them. Now go to your coffin and have a nice
rest, that's what I'm gonna do!

Observations about coverage,etc.
kingme4

I think the coverage leading up to the play-offs has been very weak and inadequate. I'm talking about the national media - both print and TV. There was only one short segment tonight on ESPN -an NBA 2Nite thing about the Eastern Conference, but it wasn't very in-depth, or interesting for that matter. Could it be that the over-saturation of pro sports has come home to roost? It just seems like the NBA is merely an afterthought in some ways.I know it's not nearly as popular as it was even ten years ago. Part of it is due to lack of stars like Jordan, etc. but i also think it's the proliferation of pro sports and coverage of such on all the cable channels that diminishes the importance and interest in formerly heavyweight sports like the NBA. The big stories today, besides the firing of NBA coaches, was the up-coming NFL draft,NHL playoff coverage(which is okay) but lots of baseball coverage? In April? There's a lot of airtime devoted to it and that stinks. There was also golf stuff, wrestling, tennis, motorcross, NASCAR,the XFL and even some WNBA stuff. Your mind becomes numb after awhile from all of the oversaturation.

And while we're on NBA coverage, Fred Carter of NBA 2Nite...is it me, or is the man getting harder to understand with each passing day? He speaks so quickly, and his words are so garbled that his opinions, though worthy they may be,come across as unintelligible ramblings.

Comment on Wash. Post Article
Bonsy

From the Washington Post:

"It's going to be a big deal to go into a series and play like we're supposed to play," said Chris Webber, who finished as the NBA's sixth-leading scorer at 27.1 points per game. "We've got some very loyal fans, and this is how we can reward them  by going out in the playoffs and doing something."

I read the Suns cocky comments about their great chance to beat us as nothing more then their own attempt to find a little confidence when they're the obvious underdog in this series.
Also, in catching up from last evening, I notice people were worried about "the Kings looking past the Suns" because some fans were talking about a Laker series.

Let me say this again, don't confuse fans with players. Fans comments mean diddly squat. We can waste hours commenting about anything we want and it won't mean a single thing to the team.

All the comments we've heard from the players, the people who actually make a difference on game day, are that they're "eating, sleeping, drinking basketball" and will be completely focused on winning each game.

Some thoughts on Doug, Bobby and Brother Hedo
Bawsor

I am so happy to see Doug finally getting the recognition for his outstanding plays after almost a decade in the league. His emergence, however, speaks more about the Kings than Doug himself. Before joining the Kings, he spent the past 7 years with the Knicks (2) and the Raptors (5). I therefore had the chance to watch and enjoy his plays. Unfortunately, the Knicks and Raptors were "top heavy" teams, with Ewing and Carter getting most of the important plays and recognition. Consequently, Doug played a supporing role. But once he came over, he blossomed. Unlike the Knicks or Raptors, the Kings are an "equal opportunity" and team-oriented organization. It is therefore no surprise for me to see this 6'6" swingman emerged into such a vital part of our team. Geoff is such a shrewd GM to see through the smoke and mirror and picked him up. In Wall Street parlance, Doug Christie is an "undiscovered value" stock.

Bobby, I must admit, is a pleasant surprise. Before joining the Kings, he had a mediocre (at best) career with Denver (1) and Minnesota (2) after graduating as a Golden Golpher. His tenacity in defense, clutch three-point shootings, and reboundings are really surprising. Geoff made another shrewd move in picking him up. In Wall Street, Bobby would be an "emerging growth" stock.

Brother Hedo, what more can you say about him. A 6'9" swingman, excellent ball-handling, deadly jumpshooter, and hard-nosed (no pun intended) defender. The first time I saw him was in the first Blazers game on NBC. He stole the ball and drove (left-handed) from end to end for a dunk. Whoa - was that a sight to behold! Geoff should get the GM of the Year award just for picking him up. And if Brother Hedo were a stock, what would he be? At the start of the season, I would have called him a "speculative Turkish ADR". And now? Hedo is a "can't miss blue chipper"!!

Thoughts on Wang and Hedo
Istanbul 2008

Whether Wang will be on the playoff roster or not won't make a difference for the Mavs but for himself IMO.
This will be a huge experience for him.

BTW someone was concerned about Hedo's age. I might say that you do not have to worry about his age and that he is inexperienced; he has been in the final four of Europe last year, and was elected to the best five. I think we should worry about Webber's inexperience of being in a favorite team as he is a more important piece of this team than Hedo.

Slow Hoops Day, so here is a little Real Life to Ponder
Catman

Ya gotta hear what's going on in lovely downtown Fresno, actually down the road apiece in Visalia.

Foster mom apparently hires two males strippers to perform at teen-age foster daughter's birthday party. Strippers go a little above and beyond the call of duty, if you catch our drift, and land in the pokey with the mom.

This is in the same area where two different faith healers are up the proverbial creek for similar wrong-doings; another foster mom disciplines a foster daughter by having another foster kid sit on the younger one until she dies; and a wacked out woman kills another to steal the second woman's baby, but both die so the killer woman hangs herself in jail.

Ain't life grand?
