BRING
ON THE MAVS

WHOO
HOO! Way to go Kings! They just flat out-played
the Jazz tonight. Even when the Jazz started
their same ol' same ol', the Kings kept their
cool and just kept on going.
Welcome
back Peja! I knew he wouldn't be missing for
long & when that kid decides to make a
comeback, he really makes a comeback!
Some
people are saying the Kings were "exposed"
in this series - I think what they showed
most was their inner toughness as a team,
their unwillingness to give up even when confronted
with back alley basketball.
This
may have been the best game I've ever seen
Ostertag play. He deserves props for what
he did tonight & he was by far the most
active Jazz player on the floor for much of
the 4th quarter.
Mike
Bibby: The guy couldn't make a basket all
night long, then he goes baseline to baseline
for a layup on one possession, and a couple
of plays later hits a key outside shot for
the Kings. He always seems to make them when
it really counts.
Whatever
Peja had he seems to have passed along to
Hedo. What in the world happened to him? Two
horrendous FT shots in a row? That's not like
Hedo at all who's usually very solid at the
line.

VLADE
FOR 3!!!!
Whew,
just got back from the Delta Center. I haven't
caught up on anything yet. It's kind of late
and I may not have time to read all the comments
tonight.
It
was a gorgeous, sunny day in the Salt Lake
Valley. The mountains glistened with snow
against the bright blue sky. A great day for
a Kings series victory.
You
folks all saw the game, so I'll save my comments
just for local color.
The
Jazz fans booed Vlade again, even though Vlade
was right. They booed Webber and after the
game on local TV, Webber complimented the
Jazz fans saying what great fans they are,
and he didn't mean it sarcastically. The place
was rocking and I don't know if that came
through on TV. I loved the moments where the
air went out of them at times... and the quiet
at the end of the game.
There
were still a lot of Kings fans there. Access
to the players before the game is a lot easier
than in Arco.
The
only problem was, we sat right behind John
Stockton's kids. All 5 of them. So I had to
muzzle my "Great FLOP Stockton!!"
comments...
The
Jazz fans sure hated the refs tonight. With
all their signs complaining about Kings "whining"
about officials, any call they didn't like
brought out horrified shouts from the fans.
Typical. We did the same thing in Arco.
It'll
just be nice to play basketball again, instead
of tackle football. I was holding my breath
several times. I thought Bibby was really
injured after getting a bodyslam under the
basket.
Anyway,
enough of that. I'm just glad it's over.
I'm
not going to think about the Mavs for awhile
yet. I'm going to enjoy this week.
I'll
wait until I get to Arco on Saturday where
I can loudly boo and cheer to my hearts content.
A
few final comments about the Delta Center.
It's nice. I expected a bit more luxury or
something, I don't know why. But it's really
a lot like Arco. It looks bigger on TV. Once
I got inside, it felt compact. It's a great
atmosphere for a basketball game. All seats
seemed to have a good view of the action,
and you sit right down to the court.
Being
right downtown, the traffic out of there was
a drag. The parking lots were mix and match
and you could end up paying anything from
$2.00 to $7.00. Cheaper than Arco's lot.
I
liked the plaza in front, though. They have
bands and food and music. It's actually a
lot like the Tip-Off Zone at Arco, but it's
just more convenient. Arco has all those huge
ramps that you have to hike around to get
anywhere. The Delta Center's entrances are
much more accessible.
Anyway,
good night.
GO
KINGS!!!
At
least, I think everyone is relatively healthy
considering the number of bodies slammed to
the floor.
