big
men or what, they are missing something and losing
their consistency. They are an alcoholic thinking
type team, all or nothing! Thats only 2, it takes
4.Go Kings!!
I'm
Disgusted
cQ
I'm
disgusted.
I
was born in L.A., and if Kareem got the calls that
Shaq gets he would have scored twice as much as he
did then.
Chris
Webber plays like Ginger of Gilligan's Island on defense
in the paint. If he had any balls the Kings would
have won the first game and would be winning this
one.
Also
L.A. fans are NOT the Lakers and have zero to do with
the success of the team, yet somehow imagine that
their own self worth is enhanced by what the team
does. Ridiculous. When I was a Laker fan, Kareem and
Magic won those titles, not me.
Doug
and Hedo make me smile. They leave it all out there.
And if Hedo was allowed to, he could do even more
than he does.
The
series is not over, but I am tired of watching the
Kings throw away games they can win. The Lakers are
just not as good as the Kings are making them look
right now.
The
factor that is often overlooked that has turned the
Lakers around at the end of this season is Derek Fisher
(who I like a lot) coming back. I am happy for him,
but am disgusted that the Lakers benefit from it.
All
that said, if the officials would call 3 second violations
and Shaq's shoulder/elbow battering-ram technique,
and Chris would box out and play like a wolverine
in the paint, the Lakers fans would be avoiding this
forum; and, if the Kings WAKE UP, the Kings can still
win. I hope they do.
Disgusted.
Webber hurt the Kings with his avoidance of contact
in the paint. Disgusted. The Kings made the Lakers
look better than they actually are. But hopeful. The
Kings can sweep the next four games, by just playing
100% and refusing to lose. Wilt was a much more dominant
player than is Shaq and the Celtics managed to win
championships regardless how dominant Wilt was (except
when Wilt played with Jerry West). Again, the Kings
can still win this series, and should. If they don't,
it will be their own fault; because they have the
weapons to embarrass the Lakers and go all the way.
Will they? It is up to them.
Kings
win series 4-2.
I
am not impressed with the Lakers game right now, and
neither should the Kings be. That is how displeased
I am with the Kings game the last two games. It is
almost as though they are finding ways to lose instead
of win.
Just
win, baby! I know the Kings CAN do it. But do they?
If they do, and play like they can, they will get
to play the Spurs next. If not, well...it won't be
my fault.
I
see the Kings winning. I do.
Go
Kings!
Reno
Lady
You
shouldn't be disgusted; frustrated perhaps but not
disgusted. Disgusted is for when your team doesn't
put out any effort - and the Kings put out great effort
tonight but I swear they've all become myopic overnight!
I can't believe the number of open shots they missed.
It was like the basket had been moved back or higher
or both since they played Sunday! If they had made
even a few more shots they would have won this game
just like if they had hit a few more free throws Sunday
they would have won that one. Once again Shaq and
Kobe had around 70 points between them and still the
Lakers won by less than 10 points - if that doesn't
tell both teams something they all need to be slapped.
I really think the Lakers thought they had this game
in the bag when they were up by 15; even saw Shaq
get that smirk on his face a couple of times -but
the Kings came back again. This was a 4 point game
& the Kings played worse than they did on Sunday!
I notice that the Zen Disaster kept Shaq & Kobe
both in the game for a lot of minutes too-another
sign that the Lakers weren't comfortable about the
outcome of this game.
The
Real JC
Pretty
ugly game all around for the Kings. Sure would be
nice to have a starting center that has any resemblance
of a pair of nuts. To be honest I am not going to
miss C-Webb that much when he leaves, yes he has made
the Kings better as a team over the past three years,
that I am grateful for. But he has only proven that
he is not the person to lead a team to a championship.
I definitely won't miss his jumper, how many did he
miss tonight, I lost count. Did they actually practice
doubling Shaq? Because it wasn't evident tonight.
Pretty pathetic effort by the team overall.
Fireplug
Wish
I would have been wrong about the outcome. The LA
O'Neals were just too much for our whole team tonight.
See, we were right when we said Shaq doesn't need
all the special treatment to play well, so why give
it to him. Tonight I saw a couple iffy plays, but
nothing out of the ordinary. Lakers won fair and square,
with boring but effective play. Onward.
Laker
Prophet
These
things always go half-full half-empty. Whether or
not the Lakers played well, the Kings have to take
responsibility for shooting so poorly. It isn't the
Laker's responsibility to put the ball in the net
for them to "prove" that they are not playing
well enough.
In
a year's time people will look at the line score and
they'll see that the Lakers healthily outrebounded
the Kings, that Shaq scored more than the top two
Kings, that Kobe scored more than the next two Kings,
and that if such a thing as that happens, it's a good
bet the Lakers were the better team on the night.
And neither team has yet to bring its A game.
Shaq
is the only player to play like he is ready for a
championship ring fitting, and Kobe is cooperating
by playing a flawless support.
Tell
us if BoJax and Hedo have any sway in the locker room
because they are the one's who played A games tonight.
It is just they are not Shaq, and so you can't expect
43 and 20 from them.
Keep
your hopes up. No A games from any team yet, so anything
can happen.
Vlade
Divac is laughing all the way to the bank...
Kingme
And
collecting the Maloofs money! Geez,Vlade, at least
pretend like you care. Vlade should retire from the
NBA.He plqays like a 60 yr. old man most of the time.
You can't just keep a guy around because he's amentor
for Peja! Peja has his family here with him he doesn't
need a 10 mil a yr. babysitter! You can almost see
him thinking ot himself as he sits on the bench,"I
hope this season ends soon because I have all of these
humanitarian commitments to fulfill,my Group 7 basketball
camp, visiting my native land, helping children, important
stuff. This is silly. The last thing i want to do is
keep playing ball against Shaq." Well, you know
what Vlade, the only reason you're even in the position
to help others is because of this silly little game
which has made you a millionaire. He'll probably have
okay games at Arco - this is the same exact repeat
of last season. He sucked down in L.A. and was great
at Arco. TELL ME KINGS FANS WHERE IS THE IMPROVMENT
FROM LAST YEAR? Because they lost by less points?
give me a break!
Shaq
Critic
(Who is Not a Kings fan) :-)
Trying
to say Shaq doesn't get hammered a lot and the opponents
not get called for it is a waste of time. But, those
uncalled fouls would get the other team's mere mortals
in foul trouble, while the uncalled ones on Shaq allow
LA to remain a good team instead of a really weak
one, which is what they are with Shaq on the bench.
If the refs won't let Shaq get into foul trouble that
would force him to the bench, then he is officially
007 -- with a license to kill. It doesn't matter that
CWebb could get away with them too -- his game isn't
a power game -- he CAN'T knock people down with a
casual shoulder bump. If Shaq is allowed to create
shooting space by bull rushes where he stomps his
man as he takes it to the rim, or by clearing out
with his off-arm, or by lowering a shoulder, or by
bumping his man into the third row of the parking
lot and then going up for a shot, well, he can't be
stopped.
I
think NBA refs are protecting stars from fouling out
so that a big advertiser such as Pepsi, who pays millions
to the NBA for games and millions to Shaq to sell
soda, won't bitch that they are losing part of what
they paid for -- tv face time for their product's
primary spokesman. IMO, that's a big mistake and it
cheapens the game. It's one thing to call close fouls
on stars to avoid having them get hurt by thugs, it's
another to just let them beat the crap out of people.
With Shaq, they've crossed that line. How would you
like to be Pollard or Divac and know that no matter
how hard Shaq beats on you it will be you and not
he who is called for a foul? That would have to make
it tough to get motivated to go to war with Shaq.
Somewhere, somehow, some team management (Cuban, Nellie
and the Mavs?) will have to just pull their team off
the floor and forfeit a game and refuse to play against
Shaq until he is held to the same rules as others.
It would end up in court, of course, but that could
get interesting when the evidence was video tape of
every play involving Shaq, with side-by-side videos
showing the calls in identical sequences involving
others (perhaps Jahidi White, who is called for offensive
fouls time after time for trying to do all the same
stuff that Shaq does).
If
they won't let media-draw stars foul out, then no
one should foul out -- let a guy stay in forever,
but 7th and subsequent fouls would all be one-shot-plus-possession
fouls, and perhaps coach's choice as to shooter should
kick in after say 8 fouls and 2-shots-plus-possession
after say 9 or 10 fouls, three shots and possession
thereafter. If Shaq could stay on the court, maybe
the refs would call his fouls.
The
way it is right now isn't working. I REALLY don't
think there's any team-based conspiracy or even anything
informal along those lines. But, there obviously IS
a double standard being applied to Shaq and it's beginning
to make it tough for me to watch Laker games (regardless
of their opponent). In the long run, it's going to
kill the credibility of the game.
