LAKERS DRAW FIRST BLOOD

AND NOT JUST WITH KOBE'S ELBOW TO DOUG'S FACE

. . . .

GAME OVER

Reno Lady

The Lakers have played a good game, the best I've seen from them in quite a while. However, if the Kings were making a few more shots this game would be Lakers down by 6. The Kings have outrebounded the Lakers, have fewer TOs than the Lakers and have been better from the FT line than the Lakers. Once the Kings take a look at this game and see where they've hurt themselves you'll see a different Kings team in Game 2.

This was a team loss, as most losses are, because every player on the Kings made an error that cost them points. To play as poorly as they played for the first half and to only lose by 7 is surprising to me. I give Webber a lot of credit for playing so hard with 5 fouls. He and Vlade both deserve credit for that; they played smart enough to stay in the game when the Kings needed them to be in the game.

We were competetive for three quarters, winning two and tying one. Unlike Spurs we forgot to play in the first . This was actually good. I think all the jitters we obviously had in the first quarters are gone. The team will be ready to play on Monday. The Lakers played the best game I have seen them play since last year's playoffs. Expect that to happen again though. They are not defending champions for nothing. I think there are a lot of positives to take from this game and a lot of things to learn too. We'll be allright.

*sigh* such a shame when it's obvious the Kings can beat LA. Hedo just wasn't up to it tonight. I could almost feel his hands shaking when shooting, obviously nervs. Peja was missed sorely.

And I am sure Kobe knew what he was doing when he elbowed Doug. He was looking him in the face before elbowing. And they call a foul on Doug?! Gah!

The Lakers did an incredible defence though. I was expeting a similar, more agressive, vigilant defense from the Kings.

This has become more of a psychological game. I believe in the kings though and the next game won't be a replay of this one.

I have to say, that's the best I've seen the lakers look in a LONG time, shaq gets his, as you knew he would, kobe makes some unbelievable shots and the role players stepped up for them, did they pick up Dick Bavetta for the veterens minimum? I must have missed his name on the Play-Off Roster.

DC needs to stop fouling shobe with his face like that, he might hurt wittle kobe's elbow.

Revenge, Monday

I do believe that the Kings will bounce back in game 2..and that is after having one of the worst days in recent memory before the game even had begun...

They played as badly as they could play, and they still had a chance to win with 4 minutes left...

They will win game 2 and i thoroughly expect them to win 1 of two in LA and then it's a new series...

If the Kings have been anything this year, they have been consistent, they are still the only team not to lose three

in a row...

Noone said it was going to be easy, but the Kings will bounce back, that much I am sure of. I hope that helps.

Go KINGS!

Cat Man

You don't let the world champions get up 14 on you in the first quarter. You don't cry for calls while the ball is still up for grabs. You don't swipe at the ball from behind after your man has beaten you.

And you're not supposed to have all that happen and still have a shot to win.

Lakers deserved this one, and the Kings didn't. But if the Lakers don't come away knowing their in for the long haul, they're kidding themselves.

And champions don't kid themselves.

That was just a horrible start which the Kings could not recover from. Personally, I think it’s great for us to lose home court advantage quickly. Every time we've earned HCA and lost it within the first 2 games, we've gone on to win the series ( going back to last season with Phoenix). I really thought Chris was going to cry in that interview on NBA TV. He was fighting back the tears You can feel how much this team wants this and unfortunately, thery're going to have to fight for it without Peja . Hido is going to have a monster game on Monday.

I know you won't believe this but I am not worried about this....The Kings didn't play their best and the officiating was , as usual, bad! However, it is a 7 game series, the Kings now have some tape to look at that should help and I think they were able to play some jitters out after a long rest....they themselves said they needed the time off to end and I think they just needed to get one under their belt to get back in the groove. It will be ok....they just need to settle down now and move on...it is a long series!

Tough loss. I was extremely dissapointed in the lack of control especially early. Christie pass on the baseline..easily recieved by Shaq etc..The ball seemed to bounce LA's way a lot too..but I attribute that to hustle. Too little too late. Hedo was nervous or something..I was begging Hedo to pass and let's create something...see what we can get...and he was firing long range off-balance jumpers.

No matter...we need to come out on Monday and take care of business.

No Peja no...errr we have a problem..let's fight through it and get this win!!

We were never in control of this game.

I still believe, wholeheartedly, that we CAN beat these Lakers. I just went out to TGIFridays, with my Kings shirt on and had Laker fans yelling at me (Go Lakers laugh laugh laugh) as they drove by hanging their head out the car. I think it takes more to wear your colors after a loss than to taunt your opponents fans after you win... but, you know - typical Laker fan.

Anyhow, to quote Mike Bibby from a week ago:
We're going to win this (bleeping) series!

Go Kings.

A security camera at the Staples Center revealed where Hedo mistakenly was after he didn't show up for game one.

He later said he had forgotten the Kings had home court advantage, went to the wrong stadium, and was confused when nobody else showed up for the game.
