WEBBER,
WEBBER, WEBBER...
Hallama
I
can't get this image out of my head;
Webber,
resting on a stark white couch in a stark
white room, his foot elevated and wrapped
in ice, Tyra, draped in a vintage Victoria
Secret leopard print silk robe, dropping grapes
into his mouth from behind, stacks of cash
everywhere, a black puma with a diamond collar
rests on the plush white shag carpet.
The
moral of the story; its good to be Chris Webber.
Am
I sick? :)

One
of the greatest PF EVER? I don't think so.
As I mentioned in a post yesterday, Webber
still has a lot to prove. A great player he
is not... yet. He certainly has the potential,
but there are several areas he needs to work
on, most notably his soft, interior defense.
With that being said, the area I really want
to see his game improve is scoring in the
paint. With the advent of the Zone, it will
be interesting to see how he responds. We
all know that his injury late in the season
last year was the reason for his continued
decision to shoot the 18 footer. Damn, I got
so FRUSTRATED, game after game, to watch him
take that shot instead of taking it to the
rack.
We'll
see... Webber is a good player and the Kings
definately need him in the lineup to contend.
One thing for sure, Webber didn't sprain his
ankle because he is being lazy or passive!

Personally,
I'm just upset that we are going ot have to
wait to see what kind of player Webber is
going to be THIS year! IMO, with this latest
injury, we are never going to find out how
Webber REALLY would have played. I don't know
if it was ever really determined why he became
so soft towards the end of last season. WAS
he still nursing his ankle? Or was he fearful
of reinjury and lessening his value as a FA?
Either way, I'm afraid it's going to be some
time, if ever, that we see that old "Warrior"
face again. Hope I'm wrong. I love what we
had in CWEBB in the past and pray we will
have it again.

I
don't think there's a player....maybe in history...the
size of Webber with the skill set he has,
and I like the finesse style.
I've
heard analysts (ex-players) talk about the
building the perfect player....and they pick
Webber's hands. Perhaps the best of anyone
who has ever played.
I
think the criticism of Webber comes from the
fact that he's human.
He's
always been singled out as a player with the
potential to be the best that's ever played.....since
he was a kid, so there's a "ideal"
that he's compared to.....and it's a team
sport. Until the Kings, he hasn't had a competitive
team since college.
From
a purely physical standpoint, Webber is amazing....but
he still has to prove himself in the playoffs
to get the credit.
