Bobby
is better but still hangs onto the ball too long
sometimes. He's not a good dribbler and turned
the ball over late in the 4th because he wouldn't
get rid of the ball and the Hawks pressured him
until he gave up the ball. Why didn't he just
pass the darn thing?
I
don't think it's that Peja gets worse later in
the game, it's that the other team keys in on
Peja if he's been making shots. They double him
quite often and try to make sure he doesn't continue
to burn them. He got going early tonight so the
Hawks made an extra effort to contain him and
not let him shoot. What I like about Peja, when
that happens, is he'll pick it up defensively,
gets more active on the boards, makes steals,
etc. I agree his defense on Robinson wasn't as
good as Hedo's, but then Hedo got Robinson at
the end of the game when Robinson was tired too.
What was up with Hedo? A couple of airballs (?),
and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from
outside. Then when he tried to go inside he missed
his layups.
All
in all, this was a much better game from the Kings
than the last 4 or 5. They were more aggressive
and consistent on defense which gave them additional
offensive opportunities. I'd still like to see
Bobby slow it down a little and Christie not make
those one-handed swing-like passes though. Speaking
of passes, Vlade made some beauties tonight. A
couple could be used in training films of how
players should pass the ball.
