GARNETT
Bonnie49erKings
The
idea that Garnett always "beats up"
on the Kings ignores the fact that Garnett
routinely "beats up" on everybody.
He has how many triple doubles this year?
He didn't get them all against the Kings.
Garnett
is a fabulous player. But when Webber
guarded him last night, (which happened
on the first play of the game where Webber
guarded him so well, the crowd cheered
the defense) Garnett struggled. Webber
really didn't consistenly guard Garnett
until the 4th quarter. Earlier on Wallace
guarded him and did a fine job. Also Clark
took a lot of time guarding Garnett. Garnett
struggled.
Even
when the man struggles, he's close to
a triple double. Garnett handles the ball
on
|
every
possession. He's the floor leader, currently the
only player on his team that's an all-star calibre
player. He's a great shooter from any distance,
he's tall and can shoot over anyone, he's got
great hands, and can pass out of the triple and
quadruple coverages we put on him at times.
And
he doesn't just do that against the Kings.

TAKE
IT AND RUN
JB
92-90
win over the Nugz. You gotta credit Denver
for this game being close. Not the team, but
the city. The Kings just looked flat tired
in the second half. It's pretty hard to yell
at the guys for not getting back on defense
when they are so tired and the thin air is
working your lungs over. The Nugz have some
nice younge pieces and Whitney just went nuts
with the shooting tonight. But Friday's game
will be different I can promise you that.
The Kings win by 25 on Friday. I have to disagree
that Wallace belongs there in the 4th quarter.
JJ is an experienced player who will make
good decisions and is a perimeter threat.
Besides, Gerald did not look good tonight
in the |
second
half. He's an athlete more than a skill player.
So when his legs got wobbly late in the game, he
really is a liability. Hard to argue with Adelman's
decision. He's gone to JJ two games in a row in
close games in the 4th and he has 2 wins to show
for it.

The
Kings do not have enough bodies to hold an adequate
prectice session, so Adelman is using the games
to try to get JJ on the same page with the rest
of the Kings. Adelman knows what Wallace can do.
He is not stupid. Adelman might be also trying to
protect Wallace from himself the way he plays without
regard to his physical well being. We cannot afford
any more injuries, especially at the SF/SG position.

Even when Wallace was in,
Adleman had him playing on the perimeter (where
he contributes next to nothing). I understand the
desire to keep GW healthy but you can't win at anything
trying to avoid injury. If memory serves, Wallace's
last play tonight was a beautiful shot block at
the hoop. Why take him out the? New Jackson, BTW,
threw up a couple of garbage shots in crunch time.
I can see a chemistry issue developing here. Hope
not but Jackson has not earned the time he's getting,
IMO.
