success. Something we need to learn.
Was
is just me, or was anyone else ticked off
at TONY DELK shooting 3s with 2 minutes left
in garbage time? What the heck was that? He
shot 3 of them, made 2. Is that some sort
of challenge?
I
could see a rookie or some bench player who
never gets to play putting up 3s in that situation,
but not someone like Delk.
Does
he think the Kings won't notice that?
And
John Wallace with a taunting foul after a
slam, in garbage time up 24+ points?
That's
some challenge to put up to a team like the
Kings.

Well,
I'm strangely apathetic about this one.
Gerald
Wallace sounds like he'll be a player: Petrie
is tha man, one gem after another....
But
damn, lots of turnovers: sign of lack of respect
or trying too hard: While we can put together
nice runs with ease, We can't expect to come
back when down 20 odd points without making
D a priority.
While
this game doesn't have me upset, the Minnesota
game is going to be a real challenge.

Did
you notice how many shots didn't fall? Did
you notice how many Sun defenders were all
over the place, out rebounded, boxed out,
out hustled the Kings? Did you notice how
aggressive their entire tame played against
the Kings? Well, then, my friend, you know
why the Kings lost tonights game. The Kings
were flat from the tremendous exhibition they
put on against the Magic last night. They
left much of themselves back on the floor
at Arco Arena--didn't even look like the same
team.

Sometimes
it just isn't your night; sometimes it is.
You can't win them all, especially on the
road against a decent team in the second game
of a back-to-back. The Kings should just shrug
that one off and move on to the next one.
The descriptions here and the box score suggest
that this was just one of the games the Kings
were meant to lose this year. Even teams that
win 70 games lose 12 along the way. In a way,
getting butt-whipped probably leaves less
of a mental scar on a team than losing a squeaker
at the buzzer. The Kings already KNOW they
can, should and usually do play much better
than they apparently did tonight. No biggie,
or so it seems from afar.
My
Zards won their fourth in a row and still
lead the NBA in attendance at home and on
the road -- every single game so far has been
a sellout. Okay, so they had a nail-biter
at home against this year's dreadful version
of the Heat -- it still counts as a W and
it's been a while since they have strung four
together against ANY level of opponents. That
makes them 6-3 since Haywood came off of IR.
Lue has also been helping much more in this
stretch than he was earlier in the year. I
still don't think his offense is NBA level,
but his D is pretty good. Tonight Collins
asked MJ and Lue which of the two should guard
Eddie Jones on the last possession with a
two point lead and seconds to go. All ended
up agreeing that it should be Lue. Jones never
touched the ball. I think it says a lot that
MJ would pick Lue over himself for that role.
It says he respects Lue's D and it also says
his knees must really still be restricting
his mobility. If 100%, he would have picked
himself to D up Jones over any player alive.

That
was real team bball....we sucked as a team
I
could only watch the 1st half...my husband
forced me to go to sleep sensing my increasing
frustration and that the Kings might not make
it out of this one like they did last year.
I
just now woke up and couldn't figure out if
it was night or morning and completely forgot
we played tonight...too bad reality sunk in.
Time
to shake it off. It's a new day. We have new
challenges to face. Our guys should wake up
by Friday.

The
Kings arrived in Phoenix as "Welcomed
Guests" and were treated that way! Think
that is what the spider said to the fly "Welcome
to my web." The Hosts did everything
they could to make the Kings players wished
they had not left Arco Arena after the game
on Tuesday night. The Suns out ran, out shot,
out scored, out rebounded and just flat out
played them. This sure was not a game the
Kings Fans could say any bad things about
the refs! The game was lost by the players,
not the refs.
Now is the time to get back on the plane and
fly to play the T-Wolves or as some one wrote
yesterday, TreeDogs. Maybe they will not be
better Hosts but if I were a Kings player
I would not count on it. The players need
to bring their A+ game, not the L- game they
got off the plane with in Phoenix.
