IDLE THOUGHTS

Recent
editorials and articles about the Lakers'
poor record, and about what record they'd
likely need in order to make the playoffs
this year, have got me to thinking.
Although
I started the year smiling a little on the
inside every time I heard about another
Laker loss (and who among us hasn't?) I
am starting to worry that the Lakes are
going to totally dissolve this year.
I
want them fully healthy and able in the
playoffs.
I
want the Kings to meet them in the playoffs.
I
want the satisfaction of seeing the Kings
beat the pants off them in the playoffs.
Okay,
scratch that, leave the pants on. Bad visual.
But you know what I mean.
If
the Kings go on to further success this
year than last year, i.e. make it to the
NBA finals, it will seem a little hollow
if we didn't beat the Lakers directly in
order to get there.
But
if the Lakers don't start to get their act
together sometime reasonably soon, we may
not get the chance.
But
of course, it's not as if we'd want to spot
them that Christmas day game. What, do you
think I'm crazy?
