MORE THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

Joe Coolio

That was just a frustrating game to watch tonight. They could never get into a rhythm and just blew easy put backs and layups. But for all that, they were still in it the whole game. Oh well, it's just one game.

I'm still wondering why Hedo never made it into the game. I thought he was injured or something because I don't if I've ever seen him not play if he wasn't injured. Did they say anything on the radio broadcast?

A good thing was that Bibby looked good. He looked winded several times throughout
the game but in a few games that'll probably go away and he'll be back in shape.

Here's hoping they start a new home win streak on Sunday against the Warriors because I'll be there! (and also that they start another win streak on Saturday against Phoenix!).

I guess that answers the big debate. Damon and JJ stay for now. The last thing this team needs is for more good players leaving.

Tonight's game looked like another game lost to the player shuffle. Not that Bibby had a bad game, he was better than expected and played well. But as with Peja when he returned, the whole chemistry gets adjusted again and maybe a bit out of synch. Right now, the team needs to solidify a rotation and get in synch.

I guess we'll have to be patient and get a few games going with Mike in the lineup. With that in mind, I am completely confused about Hedo getting a DNP. Because it seems to me that looking at the matchups, he should have been a big help with Peja struggling. Peja always has trouble with Bowen and Adelman knows it. So I'm a little confused about how that was handled.

Hedo hasn't played particularly well as of late. However, I do think he still should have been given a chance before Jim Jackson. (Hedo was not hurt. He looked healthy at shoot-around.) Also, the Spurs' game plan of slowing everything down was obviously very effective. Almost the entire games was played at half-court sets. Althought the Spurs did turn the ball over a lot, their people got back really quick and the Kings had virtually no break-away fast basket all night long. Give props to the Spurs D.

The one thing I don't understand is, why didn't RA try to put in Wallace (instead of JJ) to speed up the pace a little bit when the Spurs were slowing things down on every play. The Spurs were leading most of the game but not by too many points. The crowd was really waiting for some big plays to happen for a long time. Bibby's 3 that took the lead got the emotions going but wasn't enough. Imagine if that compounded with a Wallace fast-break or alley-oop dunk, it could have really got the Kings over the hump.

JJ wasn't hitting shots and coldn't defend Steve Smith either. Smith hit several big jumpers in front of JJ and Stephen Jackson had 8 Rbs tonight. Hedo and Wallce both are faster than Steve Smith and aggressive rebounders (especially Wallace) than JJ and should have played.

I don't question RA's decisions. But I beleieve a lot of JJ's minutes could have been give to Hedo or Wallce tonight just to change the pace of the game in favor of the Kings.
