THE TIMES ARE A-CHANGIN'
Critic

I'd say congrats, but it was just another day at the office game where the better team won.

As I watched the game I never seriously doubted that they would. They are the better team by quite a bit at this point. Shaq is still way out of shape and was just huffing and puffing late in the game. Kobe had been run so ragged that he had no gas at the end either. The Kings didn't get a top game from several of their players, but others stepped up.

Game ball (if they did such things)? No

question, it goes to Webber. Webber played great. He played inside and actually played center against SHAQ for a while. He didn't whine; he didn't choke; and he gave better than he got in traffic in the paint. That was the player I had HOPED the Bullets acquired for Guggs and 3 firsts. The past two times I've seen him play, he's been awesome, each time showing a mix of tough inside play and decisive and deadly outside shooting when his man laid off him. Tonight, he embarrassed Horry big time. Horry probably shouldn't be playing if he's that immobile these days; Webber saw weakness and attacked it -- again and again.

Bill Walton is to the point of driving me nuts. Reading some earlier posts here, I see others feel the same. He tries to have it both ways, flipping and flopping the whole game. I'm not a Kings fan, but I would suspect

that his absurd comments about the Kings must have grated on a lot of nerves of those who are. He is so clueless it's a wonder he can feed and dress himself. He wasn't even paying any attention to more of the game than what he had seen in the past 10 seconds and even then it seemed he didn't realize what was going on.

The Kings had that game from the time they tied the score in the first quarter -- the only question after that was the margin. Walton made a big deal of the behind the back pass Webber tried to throw to a guy who was almost open underneath that was intercepted. Give it a rest; it was a heat of the moment reasonable decision that didn't work out. Walton SHOULD know better; he once was a smart player. Had the pass hit the man under the bucket, Walton would have gushed; instead he just got insufferable. Bridge players would (with a sneer) call Walton a "result merchant." UNCLE ALREADY! No more Bill! No more Bill! No more Bill!!!!!

BTW, for those keeping track of such things, I thought the refs (slightly) favored the Kings and did a very good job at both ends. Games should be so well called all the time.

Great win! Walton has got to be silenced. There is no middle ground for this guy. Everything is either "the greatest thing to ever have happened to this game", or "I haven't seen a play that bad since Naismith invented the game". What a nut. He was exclaiming that the Kings were playing horrible defense. What's up with that? This was in the 4th quarter! I agree with a lot of you guys that Bill has been hitting the bong a little too much lately. If it wasn't for the delay in the radio broadcast I would be listening to the game and watching the muted television. I can't handle that lag when you hear the basket or whistle then see it happen. The dynasty has ended. The Laker boys are done. No way will this team go 39-13 to make the playoffs. I'm worried about those ping pong balls going their way though. Remember San Antonio and how they ended up with Duncan. The only saving grace is the fact that K-upchuk will be doing the drafting. If he doesn't get the "worst executive of the year" award there should be an investigation.
