I
have been to numerous events at Arco Arena and have to agree that
there is not a bad seat in the house. Even in the nosebleed section,
you can see the action very clear and have a good view of the large
screen for close-ups. Parking and accessibility have always been
favorable and I have never had any reason to complain. Especially
lately with all the wonderful things that the Maloof Brothers(owners)
are doing to make Arco a "fan-friendly" arena. They should
be commended.
But
I really want to emphasize the fact that what makes an event, "eventful",
is the atmosphere. Sacramento sports fans have got to be the most
passionate and supportive fans of any in the country. This was most
obvious in the recent NBA Playoff series between the Sacramento
Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers. The difference between Arco "out
of control" Arena and Staples public library was like night
and day. This was evident to even the NBC color commentators.
I
believe that the credit goes to the fan. This series could have
been played in a barn and Sacramento fans would have the same response
and intensity. With the addition of the Sacramento River Cats (AAA
- Oakland Athletics) at the new Raley Field in West Sacramento,
Sac fans proved their enthusiasm for sports in this town. We sold
out Raley field while Oakland stadium barely breaks 5000.
Lets
hear it for Sac Fans. They rule!
